Applications of Non-Active Biocatalysts in Rendering Plants

Two of the more important waste management problems faced by rendering plants are Odor and FOG (Fat, Oil & Grease).

These situations can be easily and economically addressed using non-active biocatalysts as Eco-Clean for plant maintenance instead of chemicals.

Areas that should be treated include:

  • Grounds – To be sprayed once a week with a pressure washer or hose.
  • Discharge Area – Floors and walls to be sprayed daily with a pressure washer or hose.
  • Storage Area – Floors and walls to be sprayed daily with a pressure washer or hose.
  • Wash-Rack – Cleaning and deodorizing of trucks as required with a pressure washer.
  • Maintenance of system’s re-cycled water (Chlorine or other harsh chemicals not required)
  • Processing Area – Machinery, floors, drains, etc. to be sprayed with a pressure washer or hose
  • Pits, Tanks, Ponds – If all other areas are treated, only the ones not connected should be treated daily with a continuous dispenser in the maintenance phase.
  • Wet Scrubbers – retrofit to Bioscrubbers and use the non-active biocatalyst instead of Hypochlorite, etc.
  • Work Uniforms – Add to laundry
  • Etc.
