The Future of Sustainable Cleaning & Deodorizing with Non-Active Biocatalysts

Increased environmental and health awareness has led to a greater array of supposedly “greener” and “safer” cleaners, deodorizers and degreasers in today’s marketplace.  Practically none of these products, unfortunately, offer truly safe and green alternatives, aside from their low efficacy levels and even less price competitiveness.

Enter the newly developed category of non-active biocatalyst-based products. These products don’t contain bacteria or hazardous chemicals and don’t work or behave like enzymatic products. Instead of mixing “less harmful” chemicals together, this new breed of all-purpose cleaners, deodorizers and degreasers are based on vegetable-derived non-active biocatalysts (”NABCs”) as Eco-Clean, with a proven ability to quickly promote the prompt digestion of organic matter (including fats, oils and grease—“FOG”), and completely eliminate all kinds of odors, with total safety and no harmful by-products or side effects.

Use of Non-active Biocatalysts in Trash Containers and Compactors

Containers                                Compactors

Untitled5      Untitled6

Containers or Dumpsters are bins to collect trash. They are collected by refuse companies weekly or more often if required.

If the amount of trash is important, Compactors that allow a larger load of trash are used.   Because of odor problems, especially in compactors, the refuse company collects the trash before the unit is filled to capacity.

Up to now, essential oils have been used to control solid trash odors. But since they don’t  act directly on the source of the odor, they are not efficient.

Non-active Biocatalysts, such as Eco-Clean, treat the source of the odor directly and eliminate its emission, thus allowing both containers and compactors to be utilized up to their full capacity.

Study Validates ATP Testing for Monitoring Sanitation in Hospitals

A study by Sciortino and Giles (2012) published in the American Journal of Infection Control has validated that ATP testing is an effective tool for monitoring the cleanliness of hospital surfaces. ATP (adenosine triphosphate) detection systems measure the amount of organic materials in a sample, such as blood, mucus, bacteria, and viruses. When used to verify the cleanliness of hospital surfaces, ATP testing results indicate whether a surface needs to be re-cleaned or cleaning methods need to be changed.

The study concludes that ATP testing is effective in monitoring sanitation in hospitals. ATP is stable over a ten-day period, unperturbed by sanitizer, and is removed with effective cleaning.

Non-Active Biocatalysts, such as Eco-Clean, are ideal for effective cleaning. This can be confirmed by ATP testing not only in Hospitals but also in any other situation in which cleaning is important such as Food Plants, Food Processing, Restaurants, Schools, etc.

Use Non-Active Biocatalysts instead of products containing decalcifiers and ammonia

Research suggests that exposure to cleaning products, particularly those containing decalcifiers and ammonia, may increase the risk for asthma in female hospital workers.

Use Non-Active Biocatalysts that don’t contain decalcifiers or ammonia, such as Eco-Clean, to avoid the risk of asthma.

Avoid symptoms of sensitivity to chemicals in household cleaners with Non-Active Biocatalysts

A sizable percentage of low-income patients in primary care may be particularly sensitive to chemicals in household cleaners, perfumes and other everyday products, an Annals of Family Medicine, July/August 2012 study suggests.

Use Non-Active Biocatalysts like Eco-Clean to avoid sensitivity to chemicals in household cleaners

Avoid allergies produced by natural extracts with Non-Active Biocatalysts

“Natural” extracts that can trigger allergies. Allergies are an increasingly serious health issue for millions of Americans, especially children.

Untitled4

The Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the number of American children and teenagers reported to suffer skin allergies more than quadrupled, from 2 million reported cases between 1999 and 2001 to nearly 9 million between 2008 and 2010.

Another 12.6 million children and teens were estimated to suffer from respiratory allergies in 2008 to 2010, the CDC said, almost triple the estimate of 4.4 million in 1999 to 2001.

The solution is to use non-active biocatalysts, like Eco-Clean, that don’t contain oil scents from natural or chemical extracts.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Non-Scented Non-Active Biocatalysts

Steve Ashkin’s piece in Cleanlink News 9/12/2013 is right on point on the hazards of some fragrances. We would like to add that using Non-Active Biocatalysts like Eco-Clean for cleaning and deodorizing, none of the health hazards mentioned below will occur and the suggestions to reduce the amount of fragrances are probably not required.

Use of Non-Active Biocatalysts in Septic Tank Systems

Most urban and suburban municipalities provide facilities for the treatment of industrial and domestic household waste at wastewater treatment plants.  However in rural and more remote areas, it is septic tank systems which provide the functions of sewers and treatment plants.

An optimal operation of the septic system is essential to health, the environment and property value.  The septic system can become a health hazard, public nuisance, and a financial burden. It is necessary to know:

  • How the septic tank works.
  • The kind of soil absorption area on site.
  • Reasons for septic tank failure.
  • Expenditure to replace a failed septic system.
  • Effects of a failed system on health and ground water.

The use of a Non-Active Biocatalyst like Eco-Clean to the care of your septic system will protect you indefinitely from the difficulties created by a failing system.
